For the metal bands: play guitar in a “power stance.”

You might not know what a power stance is. Apparently you haven’t played metal and/or don’t have metal friends. Essentially, metal/hardcore guitarists need to squat into a power stance during breakdowns or other parts of excessive rawk (not rock).

Think of olympic weightlifters squatting down before exploding with the weights over their heads. While squatting in a power stance the rock is harder, and the proverbial weight can be lifted above your head.
